Why isn’t this a salaried job?

QSG is a proprietary trading firm built by quantitative traders. We trade firm capital and build systematic strategies on our own technology.

Our compensation structure is intentionally performance-based because we want alignment between the trader and the firm. This model is not an experiment. It reflects how our senior traders were trained and how we believe the best long-term outcomes are created.

In a salaried or research-only seat, compensation is typically capped and the trader’s upside is often disconnected from the value they create. We attract candidates who want direct participation in outcomes and are confident in what they can build over time.

QSG was formed by a group of quantitative traders who originally built and operated these strategies inside a larger multi-strategy platform. Over time, we spun out into a dedicated, independent trading group with our own technology stack, risk framework, and recruiting pipeline. We operate within a broader multi-strategy ecosystem and have long-term institutional relationships.

Do traders have to put up capital or pay to trade?

No. QSG is not a pay-to-play firm. Traders do not deposit capital, pay training fees, or purchase access to a desk. We provide the infrastructure and firm capital, and traders earn a profit share based on net performance.
